Additional info: "It all started when I arrived on June 1st, 1972 in New
Orleans Louisiana. From the very beginning I wanted to do
things my own way. At three years old I would go to the pool
and promptly remove my bathing suit (imagine that!) Okay, so
I was a nudist toddler! We moved to a small town outside of
Atlanta when I was ten. From here through high school I spent
time in both New Orleans and Atlanta, the best of both
worlds. The serenity and beauty of the country and the
decadence of New Orleans!
In junior high and high school I tried many sports. Tennis,
soccer, swim team, cheerleading. I learned to fish and we
spent some time camping. What a peaceful way to start the
day! After high school I went to West Georgia University to
study a career in journalism. Quickly disenchanted by the
salary and the long hours of studying I moved back to New
Orleans to "find my path". I found instead a yearlong party
with some very fun friends.
While visiting a few in Houston, I met a talent scout for
Playboy who was also an amateur photographer. He asked if I
wanted to pose for a fitness ad for World Gym. Being the shy
girl that I am I replied " When do we shoot?". While shooting
he asked if he could send my picture in to Playboy for a
possible go as a centerfold. Not thinking too much about it I
agreed. Two weeks later I received a call asking me to fly to
Los Angeles for a test shoot!!! Never having been to LA was
one thing but now I am going to stay at the Playboy mansion!!
OHHHHHH Yea!!
Within the month I was approved as Miss May 1994. My
experience with Playboy opened a world of possibilities. Late
October of 1995 I packed my stuff and drove across country
from New Orleans to that crazy tinsel town that I reside in
today, LA. Three and a half years have gone by so let's see
if I can re-cap the whirlwind experience between then and now
for you.
Granted I had modeled for Playboy and even done a World Gym
ad but now it was time to try modeling La style. One of my
first jobs was for Venus Swimwear magazine. I was flown with
nine other models to the Dominican Republic for a seven-day
photo shoot. What a blast! Now I am hooked! The girls were
all adorable and although we were at breakfast at 4:30 each
morning and did not wrap until sunset each day it was a ball!
Our "down" time consisted of jet-skiing (of course), and
riding dirt bikes through town. The most beautiful sunset I
have ever seen was from a villa in the mountains of the
Dominican.
Leaving no stone unturned I decided to fully explore the
print world. As well as appearing in numerous issues of Book
of Lingerie I have also been on the cover of Frederick's of
Hollywood, Venus Swimwear, Swimwear Illustrated, Salling
catalogue of Denmark, Flirts catalogue, and a Molson beer
poster! Modeling has taken me to places such as Hong Kong,
Jamaica, Hawaii, Denmark, Canada. What a great way to see the
world- for free! Modeling was great fun, but I started to get
a little restless, so off to discover a new way to whet my
appetite!
Realizing the world of possibilities I turned my attention to
television and film. My first role was a feature film called
Cover ME. First project and here I am doing a movie that
stars Paul Sorvino! Okay I have seen the Godfather a few
times! The perfect role to highlight my segue into acting- I
played a centerfold -big stretch! Like I said the perfect way
to start! The role was quite fun, I open the film the first 5
minutes or so and then I die. Isn't that the way all actors
debut. Only one place to go from here: I got a role on
Baywatch ! Another big stretch! After Baywatch I landed a
role in two different episodes of Married with Children. That
was a ball! This was my first introduction to a live
audience. We had rehearsal Monday through Thursday and
performed twice on Friday. Each of us little people was
allowed to give a guest a pass to be in the audience. No
pressure - first live audience - and people I know are
watching! Things turned out great and married still remains
one of my fondest memories to date. Guest starring
appearances on Renegade, Silk Stalkings, Viper, High Tide,
soon followed. These shows were all a lot of fun but the real
fun came when I tried my hand at hosting.
The gossip show hired me to do an episode alone and one with
two other playmates. This introduced me to yet another type
of television. The day goes like this. Show up on location
get script for all six segments - have thirty minutes to
review it- and action! Somewhat hairy the first few tries,
but so much fun! The segment with the other two playmates was
shot at the playboy mansion. No fun to be had there right! We
spent the episode playing pool and hanging out while
delivering lines of course! Next hosting gig was for Real TV-
if you have ever seen the show it is an extreme look at real
life and amazing sports not at all up my alley.
Now I am ready for movies. My second film after Cover Me was
for Andy Sadaris filming Day of the Warrior. We spent two
weeks in Shreveport Louisiana filming the action scenes and
the rest of the film was shot in Los Angeles. Put ten actors
in a small hotel on a fun film and you have yourself the
makings of a good time! Andy was great to work for and the
cast got along like a co-ed fraternity. My second film Savage
Beach was shot in part in Maui Hawaii. Oh, if I must go! We
once again had entirely too much fun to be working. On this
film part of our action scenes involved an on the water chase
on jet skis- absolutely hated that. The last film I worked on
was titled love stinks. The cast included Bill Bellamy, Tyra
Banks, French , and many others. My first comedy! Which
brings us to date on my current project, Black Scorpion. This
TV series is a scifi action comedy that I have loved being a
part of. My role is Babbette, the corrupt mayor's secretary.
This is my first recurring role!! Think Batman and Robin-
Zena! You will have to look for the red wig to find me-
Babbette is a little outrageous! Black Scorpion will air on
the Sci Fi channel Monday nights at 9pm starting January
2000!!"
Love, Shae
